Back in early February we had what was almost certainly the most challenging and intense weekend of shooting of Play It Safe's entire production. The scenes we shot are from the very end of Play It Safe's first act, where (the protagonist) Jamie's band has their final gig. We had a massive amount of coverage to get, there were three different musical acts to film, three dialogue scenes, a buttload of extras to manage, and to make matters worse we were forced to find a new location only two days before the shoot! I can safely say that this weekend was definitely the most stressful one I have ever encountered.
But, thanks to my amazing team everything went incredibly well! Raechel and I have been working our way through these scenes over the last few weeks and it has been very very exciting. The footage looks absolutely amazing, far better than I ever dared to hope, and I'm certain that this sequence is going to be one of the highlights of the film.
I want to give a massive thanks to everyone who put in their absolute best efforts on this weekend, especially to all of the extras who hung out all day in the sweltering summer heat! I'd also like to give a very special thanks Gus and Erin at He & Eve & The Big Apple for helping us out at the last minute. They not only have an amazing studio space but they are incredibly generous and helpful too. So, if you need a studio to shoot your next video then I can't recommend them enough.
Alrighty, without further ado, here are some behind the scenes shots from the shoot. Big thanks to Oliver Gigacz and everyone else who took these shots.
